Since their establishment in 1998, Commission Junction has grown to be the largest and most widely recognized affiliate network in North America. This kind of recognition has helped Commission Junction attract some of the biggest merchants in Affiliate Advertising, allowing you to manage affiliate accounts with the likes of eBay and thousands of other large corporations. It is estimated that Commission Junction handles nearly 50% of the top 500 web retailer affiliate programs.
These Merchants tend to be trusted, well-established businesses, with long track records. It seems self-evident that both newbies and experts would prefer to work with these well-established companies.
Another major advantage of working with these trusted businesses is that they generally provide high quality products. These high quality products are easily promoted and sold. These sales mean more money for the merchant and the advertiser. As a result new advertisers join to promote these highly sought after products, and new merchants with new high quality products join to take advantage of the influx of advertisers.
As a publisher, Commission Junction’s interface makes it easy to quickly set up your favorite banner or text advertisements with graphics and designs to help match your webpage or blog. If your looking to advertise your website, blog, or digital product/s, look no further. Gone are the days of silly cost-per-click advertising, which are replaced instead with simple referral and commission fees that are only paid once a sale has been made. Thanks to years of countless innovations and breakthrough, Commission Junction has one of the most simple and straight-forward affiliate interfaces, making it easy for both parties, the advertiser and the publisher, to maximize their profits.
My Personal Opinion
Ok, so now for the juicy bits, how do I feel personally about commission junction after a few months of use? I have had very little problems personally, So far commission junction has kept all their promises. I add banners and text links to my sites, and almost if by magic money gets deposited to my Commission Junction account, and once a month I get my check. While I have had little to no problems with the Commission Junction interface, I have heard of some real horror stories.
There are many claims floating about pertaining to Commission Junction not really reporting all of your sales, thus as an advertiser you aren’t receiving your fair pay. While this is hard to verify there are many people who have ‘proof’ to back up their claims. Most frightening to me however is the stories of Commission Junction closing whole accounts without paying out previous earnings.
I have read several stories of publishers earning well over several thousand dollars a month, only to have their account closed, and subsequently lose their income, with little to no information as to why provided by Commission Junction. Having had similar experiences with both eBay and Google Adsense, I take these words of warning to heart. Not to say I don’t use Commission Junction, I most certainly do, but there are a range of other affiliate networks out their to help diversify your income.
Time to make some money,
Michael
